Be like a tree

Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don’t see what goes on underground – as they grow roots. Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don’t see the roots. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like the roots of a tree. – Joyce Meyer

I took this little video at Buckland Hall in Wales during my Insight Yoga training. This little snippet of time brings me so much joy, from the colour of the sky, the movement of the clouds, the sounds of nature but most of all the leaves spinning to the ground.

Trees are powerful beings and such great pillars of strength.

  • Physically trees help people and the planet by providing oxygen, shade to rest under and habitats for creatures.
  • Their energy can also effect our mental, emotional and spiritual energy.  Just stop and think for a moment and go back to when you were little, think of the joy and excitement that you felt when you were climbing a tree or the magic of spending time in a treehouse? It’s unforgettable, right?
  • Trees like all living things have an energy frequency or vibration and an aura. With their roots reaching deep into the earth, they have a powerful grounding energy. Their vibrations are slower and deeper compared to other living things. Essentially trees share their energy vibe e of safety, security and stability.
  • When in the presence of a tree you will pick up their vibrations whether you are consciously aware of it or not. You begin to resonate with the tree’s energy and you become more centered and grounded.

So my little tip today is go out and  ‘hug a tree’, embrace your inner hippie whether you’re in Discovery Bay at the top of the stairs, walking through Regents Park or walking down a dirt track in Navigators, find a strong healthy tree and wrap your arms around her for a moment and just be, you will instantly start to feel grounded, calm and substantially great.
